Unconscious Memory (2003-2006)
Conduit Gallery, 2003 Solo Exhibition, Archival Pigment Prints
For the exhibition, Unconscious Memory, Grant delves into the fantastic and seduces the viewer with unmoored phantom-like tableaux’s that depict a sense of mystery and provoke more questions than answers.
Sex Is Interrupted
These works conjure up fairy tales, nightmares and childhood imaginings and makes conscious, lost and forgotten fragments of experience and emotion.
All images are printed by the artist and available as 47”x35” or 30”x23” limited edition archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle 308 Rag papers. Edition sizes are 9 and 20 respectively. Each print has a hand-torn white border with a de-bossed signature stamp on front and labeled and hand-signed en verso.
Night Journey uses the shadow as metaphor to examine the perceptual and psychological aspects of the dream-state and provides a pictorial access to the unconscious.
